Meet the Governors

David Comb

Chair of Governors

I've been the Chair of Governors at Morpeth First School since 2018. I hope everyone who comes into school has a fun learning adventure. It's the same if you're in nursery, or if you're Mrs Fielding, or me! When I'm not at school, I work as a barrister practising criminal law.

Paul Lawrence

Vice Chair

I am a retired Executive Headteacher of the Three Rivers Learning Trust, a former School Improvement Partner and National Professional Qualification for Headship tutor at Newcastle University. I am the grandfather of two girls who attend Goosehill and have been a local authority governor since 2019. I am committed to school improvement and offering a high quality provision for all.

Jennifer Clark-Hall

I was a secondary education teacher for 10 years and now run a community interest company with a focus on promoting creative skills and industries. I am passionate about creativity and the benefits it can have on personal health and wellbeing.

Bryony Roff

I am an architect working mainly on historic buildings in the North East. I am a parent to two boys, both of whom went to Morpeth First School, one is now at KEVI, the other attends Newminster Middle, so I have had many years of association with Goosehill. I have been a governor since 2016, first as a parent governor, now as a co-opted governor.

Nicola Darrington

I am a mum of two boys at the start of their school journey. I work in the local community as a GP and live locally. I enjoy meeting people and I hope I am friendly and accessible. I love spending time outdoors hiking and camping. I like to spend my spare time baking, reading and crafting.

John Ryder

Other than being a dad to four characterful, young children, I am a business owner and have lived in Morpeth for 13 years. I'm approachable and often seen carrying out the school drop off most mornings - so please say hello!

Jean Stafford

I am a Morpeth resident and a retired police officer of 30 years service with Northumberland Police. Following my retirement I requalified as a teacher of English as a second language and literacy for adults.

Jacqui Molloy

In my teaching career I have been a class teacher in first and middle schools. I have also been the teacher in charge of Morpeth Reading Centre, working closely with Psychological Services. I am now retired and happy to be part of the team of governors at Morpeth First School.

Alison Healy

I am a member of the Goosehill staff with a wide ranging teaching career. I have an interest in world cultures and languages, a passion for the environment and a love of all things sporty!

Helen Moulton

I am a mum to three girls, one of which currently attends Morpeth First School. As a primary school teacher, I taught for 9 years in Leeds before moving back to Morpeth. For the past 8 years, I have worked as a SEN teacher and school leader within a local special school. I am committed to inclusion and offering excellent provision for all.

Amy Moody

I have been part of the staff at Morpeth First School for 14 years. I am also a mum of two boys and live locally. I love spending my time exploring the outdoors, mainly walking and cycling. I coach a local rugby team and my other interests include science and lots of creativity.
